Our community

We care about our staff, our community and wherever possible we get involved in raising money for charities. Here are just a few highlights from recent years.

Colchester Rugby Club

We have been the main sponsor of the Colchester Rugby Club since 2013. This is a great investment in the local community and one we hope to continue for many years!

As a thriving community club we run four senior teams and have around 600 juniors playing rugby every weekend. Colchester Rugby Club endeavours to support our local community and contribute regularly to charities, so it is fantastic to have the support of a company that shares our values.

Dogs at work day!

We held our dogs at work day to raise funds for the National Animal Welfare Trust. “Dogs at Work Day” was such a success, we are considering making this a recurring event throughout the year. It benefits the employees and the company, and the dogs seem to love having the day out!

The Big Sleep Out

Two team members braved the wild winds of Colchester and spent a night sleeping rough in a park. Over £1000 raised for The Samaritans! Read more

The Great Whitehall Bake Off

Ten team members took part in the office Bake Off raising money for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity.

Mud Run

A 5km challenging obstacle race raising over £1000 for St Helena Hospice!

Nationwide efforts

We take part in major charity events throughout the year – Red Nose Day being just one!

Sponsored trip to India

We sponsored Colchester Sixth Form College student Arabella Watkins, who spent three weeks volunteering in Southern India with the support of the Russ Foundation. While there, she helped teach adults and children English at the charity’s schools and took part in fieldwork exercises, digging to improve irrigation and improve crop yield.

I would sincerely like to thank everyone at Whitehall Resources for all of their help, support and encouragement. They have been brilliant from day one and I could not have hoped for a more kind and generous sponsor.

Employee-suggested charities

Getting active for charity

  • My biggest motivation is the team, the company and what they do for us, they really look after us. There is purpose, a lot of incentives and perks and I just like the culture in general.
